Medium is a popular blogging platform that attracts millions of readers and writers from all over the world. It’s a great place to share your thoughts, ideas, and stories with a large audience. However, many writers on Medium are obsessed with getting more followers, as if the number of followers defines their success. In this article, I’ll explain why I am not greedy to get followers on Medium and why you shouldn’t be either.

Many writers on Medium are obsessed with getting more followers. They believe that the more followers they have, the more successful they are. However, I don’t share this belief. In fact, I am not greedy to get followers on Medium. Instead, I focus on producing quality content, building authentic relationships with my readers, and improving my writing skills. In this article, I’ll explain my reasons for not being obsessed with getting more followers and why you should adopt this mindset too.

Reason 1: Quality over Quantity

One of the main reasons why I am not greedy to get followers on Medium is that I value quality over quantity. I believe that producing high-quality content is more important than having a large number of followers. When you focus on producing quality content, your readers will naturally be attracted to your work and share it with others. This will lead to a larger following over time, but it will be a genuine following based on the quality of your work.

Reason 2: Authenticity is Key

Another reason why I am not greedy to get followers on Medium is that I value authenticity. I believe that it’s important to be true to yourself and your readers. When you try to manipulate your followers by using clickbait headlines or other tactics to get more views, you’re not being authentic. This can lead to a short-term gain in followers, but it will ultimately harm your reputation and credibility.

Reason 3: Building Relationships with Readers

Instead of being greedy for followers, I focus on building authentic relationships with my readers. I believe that this is the key to long-term success on Medium. When you build relationships with your readers, they will become loyal followers who will support you and your work. They will also be more likely to share your work with others, which can lead to organic growth of your following.

Reason 4: Avoiding the “Follow for Follow” Trap

One of the biggest traps that writers on Medium fall into is the “follow for follow” trap. This is where writers follow other writers in the hope that they will follow back. While this may lead to a short-term increase in followers, it’s not a genuine following based on the quality of your work. Instead of focusing on getting more followers, I prefer to spend my time engaging with my existing followers and building relationships with them.

Reason 5: Focus on Self-Improvement

Finally, I am not greedy to get followers on Medium because I believe in focusing on self-improvement. Instead of obsessing over my follower count, I focus on improving my writing skills, learning from my mistakes, and experimenting with new formats and styles. By focusing on self-improvement, I know that my work will continue to improve and attract more readers over time.
